381 Baslow Edge

"No manure Removal" commands the sign on Baslow Edge - this must be the oddest notice in the Peak District, perhaps that's why the climbers we met were wiping their boots so carefully! They were bouldering - very hard, short climbs on the massive gritstone rocks above the edge. Most people wouldn't get off the ground on these athletic problems but, unlike climbers on high routes where risk is part of the attraction, these gymnasts although unroped bring large comfy mattresses to cushion a fall.
