Over 200 years have passed since William Leather got a licence to sell ale at his smithy. And the pub is still popular, for walkers love coming to this remote spot above Langley. Here, on the edge of Macclesfield Forest, four reservoirs have created a little Lake District. There's even a mini mountain in the form of Teggs Nose. But you don't have to make any strenuous effort as this walk strolls past the lower slopes giving you the classic Lakeland Experience of a mountain reflected in a lake. And whatever the weather the trees provide shelter from too much sun or rain, while most of the forest tracks and bridleways are surfaced so you can enjoy the extensive views without getting wet feet.
