Here's a stroll through history. Marple's magnificent flight of locks leads to the junction of two canals then a stroll along the Macclesfield Canal is followed by a venture out into the countryside before a climb to Ridge Fold and "The Romper". Alas on our latest visit Closed notices plastered the windows, so let us hope a new owner is soon found, for it is in a splendid position. Then a gentle downhill leads to the Peak Forest Canal for your return.
