Get away from the crowds and explore the quiet paths around Lyme Park's southern fringe. Beyond Paddock Cottage a broad, grassy ridge leads to a little visited valley and the narrow path goes up, out onto the open moor. Deer graze quietly as you climb the popular path to the ancient Bow Stones then return along a high ridge and through woodland past the Lantern tower. Then Turfhouse Lane, named after the turf houses which once stood here, leads back to Lyme Hall.
