809 Lach Dennis

King Edward enjoyed the hunting here so much he came under the pseudonym "Duke of Portland". Now the area is again highly prized, for deep beneath lie vast gas storage caverns, but in this snowy wonderland the foxes knew they were safe as they trotted across our path. But in spite of the gas pipeline works the whole area is quiet and peaceful and has a truly rural feel.
