With twisty turny roads and expanses of blue water it's easy to see how the area round Anglezarke, near Bolton, came to be called Lancashire's Lake District. They had lead mines here too, but now Lead Mines Clough is a tranquil valley with glorious woodland, just like its Cumbrian cousin.
