Many people think Ingleborough is Yorkshire's highest mountain, but actually it's the whaleback ridge of Whernside. "The wildest place ever" said the navvies on the Settle to Carlisle Railway who lived in shanty towns beneath its slopes, but what a legacy they left in Ribblehead Viaduct!
