Who was Harry and where is his hut? You'll look for them both in vain for Harry Hut is a concrete trigpoint standing high above Glossop. However bits of gritstone lie beneath the trigpoint so maybe Harry did build a shelter up here long ago to admire the spectacular view in comfort - we'll never know. Like most heather moors this looks at its finest in August with acres of purple, but revisiting the moor after many weeks of this year's incredibly dry summer we were prepared for less than perfection. We needn't have worried, the moor looked wonderful and when we got to the trig pillar at Harry Hut it poured with rain!
