608 Christleton

Christleton, "Christ's Little Town" was not always as peaceful as it is today. After the 1645 Battle of Rowton Moor, the defeated Royalists burned the village on their return to Chester, leaving only the Parliamentarian stronghold of the Old Hall, the church and the Manor House untouched.
