Known in the Domesday Book as "Chingeslie", the meadow of a king, Kingsley had four deer parks, one and a half fisheries and land for two ploughs, while the inhabitants numbered five serfs, one villager and three smallholders. Though still a village it's a great place for families - there's not just one primary school, there are two!
