Golden gorse, purple heather and relics of lead mining dating from Roman times, make Halkyn Mountain a unique landscape. True it isn't really a mountain, but from the Iron Age hillfort on Moel y Gair there's a splendid view to the distant Clwydian Hills, while the whole of Halkyn Common is Open Access so you can wander wherever you like.
