Going for a walk at Ringway sounds more like the trek to baggage reclaim than a countryside stroll, so it was with some trepidation we went exploring with our granddaughter. After all they moved a thousand newts to make way for the new runway - was there any countryside left? But we were in for a surprise. There are fields and woods and cows and horses and blackberries and flowers. A huge tunnel takes the River Bollin under the runway, while being close enough almost to touch an aeroplane definitely appeals to small children.
