413 Kenslow Knoll

The Peak District is not noted for peaks, but it has many lows. Surprisingly though "low" doesn't mean valley, it is the Old English name for a hill and from ancient times these have been special places. Some were used as burial sites, and later miners smelted lead on these windy spots, but many still remain aloof on private ground. However Kenslow Knoll is different, for to celebrate the Millennium it was bought by the Peak Park and now you can walk beneath trees where a dagger was discovered linking the hill with the Bronze Age.
