"CLOSED", said the notice. "It's been like that for over a year" commented a rueful bystander. Our visit to Glasson Docks was not getting off to a good start, for not only was the Lancashire Coastal Way impassable, but rain, hail and a freezing wind accompanied us along the Lancaster Canal. A few weeks later all was transformed. The sun shone out of a blue sky and a newly surfaced trackway led to the sparkling waters of Glasson Dock. Primroses, wood anemones and bluebells danced in a gentle breeze - Glasson was well worth a second visit.
