Which do you prefer, a steep uphill followed by a gentle descent or vice versa? Well the former is certainly easier on the knees, and if it was flat you'd miss the views from Offerton Moor. Anyway exercise is good for you! Afterwards it's all freewheeling downhill, past Offerton Hall to finish with a gentle stroll along the River Derwent. There's even a super café and an Outdoor Pursuits Shop crammed with tempting gear as a finale.
