The walk begins from the quarry, start of the Mass Trespass in 1932. It was great to be in wild country, among the heather, bilberry and cotton-grass, with a golden plover calling plaintively and a curlew sounding its bubbling call. We must never forget Benny Rothman, who fought for our right to roam freely over these high moors all those years ago.
