The Wizard of Alderley Edge may cast his spells, but even he can't match the snowy coat of winter nor the oranges and gold of autumn for enchantment of these woods. On our most recent walk the trees still retained much of their glowing colour, while the ground was covered so deep in leaves that many of the paths could only be seen where enthusiastic children had scuffed through the carpet. We have visited the place many, many times by ourselves and with children and grandchildren and we never tire of exploring the woods. And, of course, there's also the path to Hare Hill which is clearly signed through the woods and across the fields.
