184 Hassall Green

Hassall Green's main claim to fame is that Queen Elizabeth once slept here. Admittedly it was Elizabeth II and not Elizabeth I, and she spent the night in the Royal Train. But though the railway's brief moment of glory is past, the nearby Trent and Mersey Canal is enjoying a new found prosperity and Hassall Green is busy with brightly coloured long boats.
