"Sing Glory Hallelujah, the Lord is with us still, the little cloud increasing that arose on Mow Hill". Well, Mow Cop is worth getting excited about, with a magnificent ruined castle and a panorama stretching for miles over the Cheshire Plain. But the ten thousand people who gathered here in 1937 to celebrate the gift of the castle to the National Trust had more than the view to sing about, for they were Methodists and this was the birthplace of Primitive Methodism. Finally Ramsdell Hall gives the walk a touch of class as you stroll by the railings along the Macclesfield Canal.
