359 Deep Dale

next picture
Like fiercely protective guard dogs the massive lorries growl as they leave Topley Pike Quarry, but don't be put off, for hidden beyond is the secret Deep Dale. From springtime cowslips to summer rock roses the flowers here spread in profusion. And if rain makes progress slower than usual, there's Thirst House Cave to look forward to. Seated with a flask of coffee, on a rock shelf under the protective roof, life as a caveman doesn't seem too bad after all.
