Mal Davies And They're Off....... Finished the Welsh list last Millennium, and, having waited until my youngest was nearly a teenager, we started on the English one this weekend, after a two and a bit year hiatus. Started with the North Pennines, which I found very like the Berwyns which are my locals, except that the wind was a tad stronger (!) Over a dry, mainly sunny, but bitingly cold-in-the-wind Easter weekend, we knocked off the 12 on the East side, quite easily. Apologies if this is in the 2nd edition of the book (still working from 1st Edn.), but there is now a very new looking fence which goes all the way from the col at Coldberry End right up the the boundary stone near the top of Three Pikes. Great help to navigation in mist I reckon. Of course we noticed it on the way down, having followed compass bearing through the groughs on the way up! |
