Last Nuttall
Saturday November 23, 2002 John Arkell The day started slowly with mist and wind playing around on the tops. My route to my last Nuttall was over Little Stand, Cold Pike Far West Top and Cold Pike West Top. With a party of eight individuals, all leaders and no followers this is the hardest type of party to lead, within 30 yards after leaving the cars at Cockley Beck the party had split. Later we all regrouped after crossing wet ground. It was now time for the steep ascent to Little Stand, it went dark. The wet and very cold stuff came in. Yes hard rain, this allowed some of the party to get lost. Again walking across the moor to Far West Cold Pike was a simple exercise with no need to get the map wet. Just switch the GPS on and follow the little black arrow. Then to my last top, West Cold Pike. What do I do now? I could create my own mountains list, search the internet in 2003. John Arkell
