John Arkell Cracking the last Welsh Nuttall What a beautiful day” just like the song, the morning had come a live with shining sun; the drive to Bethesda was fast. This was the first challenge of the day achieved.; anyway I was driving the lanes around the back of Bethesda trying to park, luck had it that I had the last parking space. Boots on, and I am off, up the hill looking at fine views of the Carneddau, with mist and the first snows on winter on them. With all the effort and hard work nearly over, I had the pleasure of using all my favourite and trusted waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, it was cold and wet, you know this stuff. It was a shower. This made it a perfect day, the shower had pasted. The summit, Gyrn Wigau SH654675, gave great views of Anglesey, and a pleasure to see the clouds and sun dancing together over the mountains of Carnedd y Fiiast and Foel-goch. I am now on course for a party on my last Nuttall, Cold Pike in Nov 2002 . I may just complete Bridges list before! John Arkell |
