12 Apr 2005 From: John and Barbara Twidale Mickle Fell We also did Mickle Fell from Cow Green when completing the Nuttalls as an "out and back" in March 2003. Although the path from Moss Shop to Maize Beck shown on the map is not visible on the ground we found the short stumps of 2 or 3 very old marker posts. We had no problem crossing Maize Beck, albeit March, and didn't come across another soul or hear any sound of firing etc.
