19 Aug 2007 From: Julian Edge Crimea Pass roadworks update again I'm guessing that someone cleaning up the board deleted my recent post by mistake as it's pretty relevant to anyone planning to start/finish a walk on the Crimea Pass. So to repeat what I said, there is no way of parking at the top of the pass due to the extensive roadworks and the stile for the start of walk 5.2 is taped off to prevent its use. There are signs pointing to Llyn Fridd-y-bwlch, which provides an alternative start to walk 5.2 (picking up the obvious path to the North of the lake and heading for Llyn Iwerddon is a good way to Allt Fawr though other possibilities exist); parking at the lake is probably reserved for the anglers though so a lift there might be necessary. At the moment, though, absolutely no walks can be started from the Crimea Pass and this is clearly going to remain the case for some while. I'll update when something changes.
